Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic,
our Summer Reading Program (SRP) will have another revised look this summer.
I appreciate your patience as we make adjustments to our traditional guidelines.
Mrs. Reasoner, Children's Librarian

How Do We Get Started?
Registration is required.
Beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 14th,

click HERE for the online Registration Form.

Include your COMPLETE mailing address,
because I will need contact information for future SRP mailings.
Also, include what each child's grade will be this fall.
You will receive an online confirmation that your registration has been received.

What Happens Next?
Shortly thereafter, I will contact you to pick up your child's SRP STARTER KIT,
including an official SRP Reading Booklet, a small prize,
and a paperback book (geared toward their grade level) to keep.
This book could serve as their first entry!

As children listen to or read ten library books,
they list each title on this designated booklist.

Reading Goal
A child will read ten or twenty books on their reading level
that they have never read before.

Young children who cannot yet read may listen to
ten or twenty books as "Read-to-Me's".

Tweens going into 5th and 6th grades have their own SRP called TWEEN TEAM.

I encourage you to use TDL Children's Books
as the source for the titles you list on the SRP Booklet.

The library is now back open with regular hours this summer:
Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

How Do We Finish?
The program runs for 7 weeks from Monday, June 14th through Saturday, July 31st.

Submit completed booklets at the front Circulation Desk!

(Booklets can also be placed in a labeled envelope and dropped in the outside book drop.)

Finishers will receive notification when their certificates and prizes are ready for pick-up!
Children who read or listened to ten library books will receive prizes
including a Certificate of Achievement, a newspaper, a plastic library bag,
a sparkly star wand, a watersquirting dragon, a pinwheel, and a dragon grabber!

Children who read or listened to 20 library books will receive
a reading light and an inflatable dragon!
