Meet Ms. Jennifer (Dr. J)
Jennifer Moore (AKA Ms. Jennifer or Dr. J.) joined TDL in 2024 after an extensive career as a pre-school teacher, college professor, and university administrator. She received her EdD in Early Childhood Education from Walden University in 2020.
Puppet Theater
The library features a collection of more than 40 plush puppets, a small puppet theater, and cozy seating to inspire budding performers and creative minds. All puppets are also available for checkout, so you can take a bit of the magic home with you
Imagination Station
Our dedicated room is open for families to play, learn, read, and connect with others. To keep our space welcoming for everyone, please be respectful of the materials and help your children tidy up before you leave.
Discover a welcoming space just for kids! The Imagination Station features a Brio train table, child-sized tables and chairs, arts and crafts supplies, sensory tables, games, and more. Open daily (while accompanied by an a, this cozy, tucked-away area offers a quieter place for children to play, explore, and learn while visiting the library.

Our children’s area is designed to enrich your family’s time at the library, with games, puzzles, age-appropriate manipulatives, and more to encourage learning, play, and connection.
Weekly Storytimes
The library hosts family-friendly storytimes on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Each session includes songs, stories, movement, and crafts. Storytime is a wonderful way to get out of the house, connect with other parents, and give young children a chance to socialize and build friendships. Storytime even goes “on the road” sometimes, such as to Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton in July and August, 2026. Please see the Calendar of Events for more details.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Start your child out early by reading to them daily. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun, self-paced program that helps families build strong early literacy habits. By reading together regularly, children develop the skills they need for kindergarten readiness while discovering a love of books. Families track their reading progress and celebrate milestones along the way — it’s an easy, enjoyable way to make reading part of everyday life. PageTurners
Don’t let the momentum of the summer reading program die down. Come read to a librarian. You can be a budding reader, one who needs more practice or just a kid who likes to read. You can pick the day and time that works for you! We love reading with kids. Page turners is open to kids ages 4-10 year olds and gives children a supportive, one-on-one opportunity to practice reading aloud to (or be read to by) one of our friendly library staff members. Sharing stories with new people helps build confidence, strengthen reading skills, and foster positive experiences with the library and literature. Call the library to schedule a session and help your child grow as a reader.
