The Edmund Fitzgerald Investigations

As one of the few people to have visited the wreck in a submersible, Mixter shares exclusive footage, stories, and decades of insight into the ship’s record-breaking life and tragic 1975 disappearance. This presentation offers the most comprehensive account of the “Mighty Fitz” mystery available today.

Ladies of the Lights

Thursday, June 11th | 6:30 – 7:30 PM

“Ladies of the Lights” explores the remarkable stories of more than 40 women lighthouse keepers who braved isolation, danger, and demanding physical work to safeguard great lakes shorelines from the 1840’s to today.

Through nearly 70 historical images, the program brings their lives to light, complemented by readings from newspapers and autobiographies. Attendees also receive handouts with featured biographies and additional resources for further exploration. Presented by historian and author Dianna Stampfler, the program blends engaging storytelling with deep expertise in Great Lakes maritime history.

Edith Andersen is the author of Rebuilding Nature: Yard by Yard and a Michigan-based ecological gardener. Through her writing and speaking, she helps people take simple, practical steps to support birds, pollinators, and healthy ecosystems—starting right in their own yards.

Join us as we celebrate poetry month with local poet Linda White, as she performers some of her poetry she has compiled over her life. Afterwards, we will open the floor for anyone who would like to share their own poetry (even if only a small piece!). Whether you are an aspiring poet or simply wish to stop by and listen, all are welcome to enjoy the beauty of the written word!
