Monthly Clubs
May Teen Book Club: The final Teen Book Club discussion is on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 2:45 PM-3:45 PM at Tecumseh High School. This is the last book club for the school year, so we will be discussing our favorite books, preparing for TDL’s summer reading program that launches on June 6, and possibly be working on a quick craft. We will resume the teen book club in September, 2026, so please stay tuned! Light refreshments will be served. You do not have to be a THS student to participate in the teen book club! D and D Club
The D and D Club will pause for a short break, but plans are underway to resume the campaign as soon as possible. Weekly Clubs


Game Club: Meets every Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm, after school. All teens in 7th to 12th grade are welcome. We play video games on Nintendo Switch such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros among others, and board games such as Settlers of Catan, Mysterium, chess, and cards. Some Switch controllers are provided, but bringing your own is encouraged. If you want to bring your favorite board game to play, we welcome learning new games! Open Chess: All experience levels, from beginners to experts, are welcome. We will provide some chess boards for players to use, but supplies are limited. Feel free to bring your own. We are also accepting donations of new or used chess boards to guarantee ample supplies for all who are interested. Please meet by the reference desk every Monday from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM. No pre-registration is necessary.

Teen Grab & Go Art Project
Stop by the Teen Space to pick up the Teen Grab & Go Art Project kit from the library. There is a new kit available every month or so. Supplies are limited, so grab one while they last!

The American Revolution Series on PBS
Resources for teachers and a media challenge for students from the timely series created by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. Good conversation starter for the America250 celebration! We also have the book based on the series at the library, and the DVD as well. Please click on the icons below to reserve one or both today!

Dan Ellens Book Talk
Michigan author Dan Ellens did a fantastic job talking about his book called Forest Legend: The Tale of Ol’ Split Toe, and the audience members who came were highly engaged before, during, and after the presentation.



Dig Kits for Teens
On Friday, March 20, 19 teens and 2 adults joined Megan Rapp-Frye to do a mini-excavation of custom-made dinosaur eggs! It was noisy and a little messy, but highly engaging for everyone. Thank you to everyone who participated!



Sylas Montgomery Book Talk
On Friday, February 20, the library hosted local author Sylas Montgomery for a book talk. He shared his writing journey and process which have resulted in three published works!


Book Roses for Teens
Nearly 25 teens visited the library on Friday, February 13, 2026 as Megan Rapp-Frye showed them how to do book roses from classic titles. Perhaps some of their creations may be used for Valentine’s Day gifts? We also appreciate our visit from Spartie!






Escape Room for Teens
The library hosted 18 teens on Thursday, January 29 for three different escape rooms. Thank you to everyone who participated and to Miss Jennifer and Mr. Jordan for helping with this activity!



Painting Bookends for Teens
On Tuesday, January 13, several teens decorated bookends to take with them, or to donate back to the library. Creativity reigned in meeting room B as the examples shown attest.



Mini Libraries for Teens
On Thursday, December 18, students took some time off from the end of the semester for TPS to craft some mini libraries and socialize with each other. Spartie the therapy dog visited for a while, and everyone did a great job on a complex task.











Shoulder Pets Crafting for Teens
We had a lot of fun making these cool “shoulder pets” on Tuesday, November 25. Things went so well that we had none of the main materials left over!


Tacos and Treats for Teens
On Friday, October 31, TPS had a 1/2 day on Halloween and Taco Bell donated some tacos. After the feast, we had a costume contest. All participants received a book of their choice. Spartie, the therapy dog did not win the contest this year.



Fancy Pygmy Puffs Teens Crafting
On Thursday, October 23, TPS had a 1/2 day and 16 teens made fancy pygmy puffs!


Dragon Crafts for Teens Program
On Friday, September 19, TPS had a 1/2 day and approximately 25 teens joined us to make dragon eggs! We look forward to the next 1/2 day for more crafting fun downstairs!

Perler Beads for Teens Crafting Program
We had a lot of fun on Tuesday, September 9 while hosting almost 40 after school students who did Perler Bead crafting lead by Megan Rapp-Frye!
