Morel Mushroom Hunting

Join Anthony Williams to learn the tips and tricks of morel mushroom hunting in Michigan.

The Williams family has been picking morels in Michigan since the 1890s, and Anthony’s foraging advice is spot-on for everyone from curious novices to seasoned pros. After winning the National Morel Hunting Championship five years in a row, Anthony retired undefeated from competitive picking and went on to become the “Expert in Residence” for the National Morel Festival.

Beekeeping 101

Join us for an introductory session on the fascinating world of beekeeping. River Raisin Beekeepers Club will be at the library to share essential insights on hive equipment, bee biology, and how to get your first colony off the ground.

The Edmund Fitzgerald Investigations

Thursday, May 9th | 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Join acclaimed researcher Ric Mixter for a gripping look at the Great Lakes’ most famous shipwreck. As one of the few people to have visited the wreck in a submersible, Mixter shares exclusive footage, stories, and decades of insight into the ship’s record-breaking life and tragic 1975 disappearance. This presentation offers the most comprehensive account of the “Mighty Fitz” mystery available today.

Poetry Open Mic

Third Thursdays | 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Join us as we celebrate poetry month with local poet Linda White, as she performers some of her poetry she has compiled over her life. Afterwards, we will open the floor for anyone who would like to share their own poetry (even if only a small piece!). Whether you are an aspiring poet or simply wish to stop by and listen, all are welcome to enjoy the beauty of the written word!

This event is held near the library fireplace every third Thursday of the month.

Board Game Club

Fourth Sundays | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Join us for an afternoon of board game fun at the library! Whether you’re a seasoned strategist of just looking to try something new, we’ll have a variety of games for all ages and experience levels.

Games and teachers will be provided, and you are encouraged to bring games from your collection play as well.

Bring your device and stop by with your tech questions. Brock and Jordan will be on hand to help troubleshoot issues and offer practical, easy-to-understand tech advice. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
