“Things you might not know about Michigan
(and a few other places too) in the Civil War”

Tuesday evening, April 16, 2019
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Did you know that the tallest Union soldier could very well have looked down at the top of President Lincoln’s head?  How about that the Drummer Boy of Shiloh was never at that battle, but was the last Civil War soldier serving in the U. S. Army?  These are just a few of the things you can find out about with Civil War historian Bob Griggs.

Griggs currently serves on the Board of Directors of the James B. Brainerd Post No. 111 Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Memorial Hall and Museum in Eaton Rapids.  Over the years he has assisted in putting on Civil War Days at several schools and the G.A.R. Museum’s Discovery Day Camp held in August each year, and has presented programs for several civic organizations, retirement centers and retiree clubs.

Sponsored with Austin Blair No. 7 Auxiliary of Jackson and Nash-Hodges No. 43 Auxiliary of Lenawee County.
